Map of Cedarbrae

Cedarbrae was first established in the year 1973 on land annexed to the city of Calgary in 1956. Now a home to a little under 7,000 residents, it is a very active community in close proximity to attractive features such as the Fish Creek Provincial Park and Glenmore Park.

It is bounded by Southland Drive to its’ north, 24th street to its’ east, Anderson Road to the south, and the Tsuu T’ina first nation reserve to its’ west.

The public students of the community are served well with Cedarbrae elementary, Louis Riel junior high, and Henry Wise Wood high school.

Catholic students are lucky in its’ location as St. Cyril elementary and junior high are located right in the Cedarbrae community. They are assigned to Bishop Grandin high school upon completion at St. Cyril.

Cedarbrae Plaza is a local strip mall that includes a variety of retail stores including the popular restaurant and hangout “Sammy’s World’s Greatest Pizza”. The Oakridge Co-Op Shopping Centre is also stationed in Cedarbrae’s nearby northeast across the street at the corner of 24th street and Southland Drive. If you take Anderson Road – a little further on down is the Southcentre mall with a large number of boutiques, retail outlets, and fast-food restaurants.

Right in the heart of the community, Oakridge Park is a popular vehicle among the families of the neighborhood. There are many community events year round that keep residents engaged including the Calgary Stampede Hoedown in July and the New Year’s Eve wingding. It is activities like these that help maintain that strong sense of community that the residents of Cedarbrae value so much.

Calgary Transit provides easy transportation to the Southcentre Mall and beyond with multiple stops all along Cedarbrae’s borders on Oakfield Drive, Cedarille Drive, Southland Drive, and 24th street.

Overall, Cedarbrae proves to be a tight community in an ideal location.

To its’ residents, this is just one of the many reasons why they choose to call Cedarbrae home.
