Garrison Green Real Estate Listings and Information

Located in the southwest of Calgary, Garrison Green is a relatively new community only established in 1998. It can be found south of Mt. Royal Gate, north of Glenmore Trail, west of Crowchild Trail, and east of Richard rd. Even though is it still considered an inner-city community, it is family-oriented with a handful of parks and green spaces. With a wide range of homes including large and small single-family homes, townhomes, and a seniors’ community center, the community is one of three that replaced Calgary’s old military barracks. Due to this, there are several war monuments and statues paying tribute to those who have served in the Canadian military during the two World Wars.

Public school students are designated to attend Jennie Elliot elementary, A.E. Cross junior high school, and Central Memorial senior high school. All three are located in neighboring communities – not a long commute at all. Catholic school students attend St. James elementary, St. Michael junior high, and Bishop Carroll senior high school – all located within a five minutes’ drive.

Garrison Green is unique in that it only has one entrance/exit. It’s somewhat secluded, and one of the more private, safe, and quiet neighborhoods. It is only a short distance away from the University of Calgary and within walking distance to Mount Royal College. The Westhills and Chinook shopping centres are only a short drive away, and there are a vast array of businesses that occupy the nearby communities of Garrison Woods and Marda Loop which offer many services. Within Garrison Green, there is Buffalo Park, AD Ross Park, and Peacekeepers’ Park. Just south of the community is Glenmore Park and the exquisite reservoir that it surrounds.

Calgary Transit offers public transportation with numerous stops along Mount Royal Gate as well as Crowchild Trail.

Garrison Green has navigated a path between a tribute to its’ past and the answer to its’ future. In tribute to our military, Garrison Green is a community tucked away within the inner-city wilderness of Calgary. Its’ locations provides many advantages to its’ residents who may be here for its’ distance from the university, its’ attractive amenities, or just for a quiet and private place to settle in.

One of Calgary’s newer communities, Garrison Green is a great place to grow.
