Map of Glenbrook

Lying in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, and nestled between 26th avenue to the north, 37th street to the east, Richmond Road to the south, and Sarcee Trail to its’ west, here we have the community of Glenbrook. This neighborhood, with a population of a little over 7,000 contains a collection of mainly single-family dwellings and duplexes. First established in 1958, in recent years, nearly 50% of the housing here has become used for renting. Containing beautiful views of the Strathcona Heights and the Rockies that can be seen from select spots in Glenbrook, the neighborhood also has Optimist Park located just north of it across 26th avenue.

Glenbrook public school students attend Glenbrook elementary, A.E. Cross junior high, and Ernest Manning senior high school while Catholic school students attend St. Thomas Aquinas elementary, St. Gregory junior high, and Bishop Carroll senior high school.

Amenities in the neighborhood are plentiful. The aforementioned Optimist Park offers dozens of recreational opportunities to its’ residents. There are a half-dozen green spaces additionally located within Glenbrook itself. As a bit of juxtaposition to the green space mainly found in Glenbrook’s north, to the south, along Richmond Road are a number of retail and dining opportunities. These include a Goodlife Fitness gym, a Canadian Tire, banks, the Co-Op shopping centre, a pharmacy, a Canadian Tire, a Great Canadian Superstore, an Indigo store, and many other restaurants, retail outlets, etc.

Calgary Transit surrounds the community with bus stops along Richmond Road, 37th street, 26th avenue, 45th street, and 51st street.

Glenbrook is a community not very far off from the downtown core but far enough to separate it from the hustle-and-bustle atmosphere that accompanies it. Within Glenbrook, you have the opportunity to shop, do your groceries, work out at the gym, and live comfortably all within two minutes’ walking distance. There’s enough here in Glenbrook to justify you never having the need to leave other than perhaps for work.

It’s a great community with enough at its’ fingertips for you to enjoy all that Calgary has to offer – nearly from your backyard.
